A certificate confirms each group met its limit. It does not publish a per-substance reading, so no row claims a number it does not have. One group can cover many substances. SGS separately tested our fabric for heavy metals, formaldehyde, azo dyes and pH. All passed.

What Q-max measures
How fast heat leaves your skin and moves into the fabric the moment the two meet.
Higher means heat drains faster, so it feels cooler on contact. It is the measurement behind the phrase "cool to the touch".
Why this fabric does it
Nothing is added. The cool comes from how the fabric is built, and none of it washes out.
A sateen weave, not a percaleThreads float over several others before dipping under, leaving long flat runs of yarn on the surface. More fabric touching you means heat moves away faster. Percale crosses every thread and breaks that surface up.

400 thread countHow many threads are woven into a square inch. At 400 the surface is dense and smooth rather than open and textured, so the contact has no gaps.

Bamboo absorbs, it does not sit wetBamboo viscose pulls moisture into the fibre instead of leaving it on your skin. Damp skin is what turns warm into clammy.

Why these are not directly comparable. The published figures were measured at a 10°C temperature difference and ours at 20°C. Q-max rises with that difference, so the gap shown above is wider than a like-for-like test would give. They also come from different labs on different apparatus, and the published samples are knitted and plain woven fabrics rather than sateen bedding. Every result refers only to the sample tested.

Turning bamboo into a fibre soft enough to sleep on means dissolving the pulp and spinning it again. That takes chemicals. Here is what happens to them at our fibre producer.
At the fibre producer
Carbon disulphide: captured and reusedUsed to dissolve the pulp, then recovered from the spinning bath and sent back to the start.

Hydrogen sulphide: turned back into acidConverted into sulphuric acid, which the spinning bath runs on.

Why fur has less to grip
A tight, flat weave
Sateen runs long, flat threads side by side, so there are fewer loose loops on the surface for hair to work into.

Run a damp hand or a rubber lint brush over the bed. Your pet will still shed, but most hair lifts away from the smooth surface.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will pet hair still stick?
Your pet will still shed. The smooth sateen gives fur less to grip, so most of it brushes off with a damp hand or a rubber lint brush. Shake your bedding out before it goes in the wash.
Is it claw-proof?
No bedding is, and this isn't either. Sateen is a fine weave, so trimmed nails help, and a throw on your pet's favourite spot protects the bed.
How do I wash it with pet hair on?
Shake or brush off loose hair first. Then a cold or warm gentle cycle and line dry in the shade. Please don't tumble dry. High heat shortens the life of bamboo.
Do they shrink?
They're pre-washed, but expect about 5% shrinkage in the first wash. Fitted sheet walls are 45cm deep (40cm for King Single), so there's room to spare.
Is it OK for sensitive skin?
The fabric is OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified (class II, for fabric worn against skin). SGS found no formaldehyde after one wash, no restricted azo dyes, and heavy metals within limits.
How does the trial work?
